The Comiclopedia
Dream of the Rarebit Fiend * by Winsor McCay
Lambiek is a wonderful site with a Comiclopedia, an illustrated compendium of over 6,000 international comic artists with biographies and artwork examples. Fantastic! And for my surprise I found many Brazilians illustrators there, so, it is really good. For plus, there is the History of the Dutch Comics and a virtual exposition. In my search for "Brazil" there I discovered one of the first comic illustrators in Brazil: Angelo Agostini and a site about him.
If you want more about the comics history Andy's Early Comics Archive is the right place to go. And take a look on Arpad Schmidthammer and Gustav Verbeek there.
