Vintage Make Up Book for Professionals

Silly Kid / Villain

Make Up Book for Professionals by F.W. Nack, Chicago, c.1900. The complete facsimile of lithographic pamphlet on stage make up. It shows clear diagrams of the common types of theatre makeup used for portraying popular characters and types on the American stage at that time. It's an interesting to see the stereotypes of race, gender and age - unfortunately some things didn't change. (via The Wandering Jew)
