The very talented illustrator Polish-American Władysław T. Benda was responsable for cover and illustrations for Vanity Fair, Vogue, Life and The Shrine Magazine. He was also an accomplished mask-maker, working in papiér-mâche. His page at American Art Archives has many examples of works to magazines. His work was homaged at the Library of Congress Exhibition American Beauties: Drawings from the Golden Age of Illustration (1880–1920s) with other remarkable artists from that epoch.(via IWR)
