A while ago Giornale Nuovo did two very interesting posts where death appears as a theme. Theatrum Mortis is the first one, a great post about the emblem-book of sorts devoted to the subject of Death, Theatrum Mortis Humanæ Tripartitum, issued by Janez Vajkard Valvasor.

And the second is The Life of the Dead, about the book with the same published in (1933), as a colaborative work between the American poet Laura Riding Jackson and the British painter John Aldridge, also a very good post. Take a look.
